THE WEDDING CEREMONY

Many marriages have taken place at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in our 175-year history.  Generation after generation return to profess their vows in front of God, family, and friends in the blessed sanctuary, oftentimes carrying on a family tradition begun by their great-great grandparents many years before.  Weddings at Nativity are wonderful, sacred experiences.

Our Cathedral is a beautiful place for the celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony, and is one of two locations on our Parish grounds to choose from.  It is used for larger weddings and is equipped with a majestic pipe organ, a piano, and a state-of-the-art sound system. 

For smaller, more intimate weddings, we also have available our beautiful, newly renovated Marian Chapel, located on the north end of the Cathedral.  Equipped with a liturgically-voiced electronic organ, the Chapel has a seating capacity of 80–100 guests.

A PREMIER RECEPTION VENUE

Located just to the north of the Cathedral is the Sacred Heart Center, one of the finest reception venues on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Available for rental in tandem with or independent of the Cathedral, the Sacred Heart Center ballroom has a capacity of 500 and an adjacent kitchen outfitted for staging and serving large quantities of food and refreshments.  The ballroom has a beautiful balcony perfectly situated for the bouquet and garter ceremony along with a large,  built-in stage for musicians and vocalists.  



The exterior includes a porte-cochere at the west entrance of the building giving protected access to the handicapped accessible facility in the event of inclement weather.  With expanded parking, the Sacred Heart Center is well suited for wedding receptions and other large gatherings during any season of the year.  Additional information on the Sacred Heart Center and all it offers can be reviewed at the following link: SACRED HEART CENTER.
