The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is a process of adult education in Sacred Scripture and formation in the Traditions of the Catholic Church, which has been handed down to us from the Apostles. The R.C.I.A. is a faith journey in which men and women are guided and cared for as they awaken in faith and are gradually introduced to the Catholic way of life. It is about building fellowship built on truth and love as well as providing insight into our Faith.
Further, the R.C.I.A. is a way for those desiring to enter the Catholic Church to explore the Catholic faith in an informative, non-threatening, safe, and fun environment. It is also a way for those who wish to join in full Communion with the Church to do so.
Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral Parish begins R.C.I.A. classes each year at the beginning of September. We welcome both new inquirers and current Catholics who wish to learn more about our faith. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Greg or Penny Payne at 228-365-6348 or 228-385-1474.
