SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

 Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation,” whose unity must be safeguarded.  It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.  For “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.  Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”— (CCC, 1285)

Bishop Emeritus Roger Morin decreed that all confirmation preparation is to come from the parish.  Any St. Patrick student wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation should be in contact with the parish during their 9th grade year to find out when they need to join the CCD classes to begin preparation.  St. Patrick students learn about the Sacrament, but the school does no formal preparation.  Formal preparation, including the retreat, is done with the student's home parish.  If you haven't yet begun your preparation, it's not too late.  Please call us today!
